Consignments

For all consignments we offer a very competitive 18% fee that covers all advertising, out of state trials, packing and shipping, liability insurance, all prep and cleaning etc. to ensure a worry-free sale.

Below are our the following consignment  terms: 

We will:

• Advertise locally and with social media platforms to expose your saddle to thousands of people. 
• Help you price your high-end, gently used saddle according to accurate,  current, re-sale market value. 
• Package, ship and send your saddle out on country-wide trials
• Ensure your saddle and tack are safe in our possession with appropriate insurance. 

**The saddle must be owned by the consigner or have permission from the owner to sell in writing. Ashley's Fine  English Tack is released of any legal liability selling a saddle for any consignor.  The saddle will be advertised for an agreed upon amount supported by current, national, major used tack market value for a period of four exclusive months, unless directed otherwise in writing.

*A consigned saddle may be taken on a remote trial by a prospective buyer to ensure fit for a maximum of 5 days from the date of delivery. It may be shipped with insurance and tracking via FedEx. Any prospective buyer will be responsible for all damages that could result during a trial, will be subject to the signed trial contract, and a paid- in full-deposit prior to shipping. 

*The saddle will be safely stored & insured for theft, fire, and damage with Ashley's Fine English Tack in Albany, NY and at any physical location while on trial. Shipping insurance must cover all losses during transit. 

**Personal insurance is recommended for any saddle even when not in the possession of Ashley's Fine English Tack. ** 

Fees: 

• Processing fees to allow a safe transaction will be a part of every sale. Depending on the electronic funds transfer platform used, this will range from 1.9%+ .30 to 3.49%+ $.30 per transaction. This amount will be removed automatically when the funds are received from the saddle’s buyer. The final funds transfer to the consignor will not have any fees removed. 

• If the saddle is being shipped, $100.00 will be held from the sale for shipping expenses to the buyer 1 way (saddle will be priced accordingly to absorb this)

• 8% sales tax will apply to sales in New York, which will be added to the sale price and withheld by Ashley’s Fine English Tack for filing. 

• A consignment fee of 18% will be withheld and is calculated after the transaction fees, and shipping are taken out. This amount will be taxed in the State of NY in the final pricing breakdown.

• If the saddle does not sell during the exclusive trial period, the consigner can choose to renew or terminate the consignment period, however, will be responsible for return shipping and a $50 materials restocking fee. 

Breakdown of projected payout for a typical consignment saddle: 

         $1,800- List Price 

       - $63.12- 3.49% + $.30 payment processing fee (this is the most expensive one for mock calculation purposes)

     - $100.00- shipping (if needed)

= $1,636.88- Net payment

     - $294.64- 18% Consignment fee 

= $1,342.24- approximate total payout to consignor if using Paypal. 

*Cash or certified bank check sales will result in crediting shipping and processing fees to the seller. * 

Ashley DeBacco DBA "Ashley’s Fine English Tack" reserves the right to terminate this agreement for any reason during the exclusive consignment period. 

Condition disclosure: 

Consignor hereby acknowledges that their consignment saddle will be in very-good to excellent condition, is gently-used, and does not have any major defects requiring repair or attention. This includes integrity of leather, stitching, billet straps, Tree, flocking, and integrity of the panels. Saddles with any major damage or are deemed temporarily unusable by Ashley’s Fine English Tack will not be sold until all issues are addressed by the Consignor through a certified Society of Master Saddlers saddlery. The tree and any notable defects will be double checked and noted once it arrives at Ashley’s Fine English Tack or upon pickup/drop off. If a saddle is found to be unsound in any way, saddle will be returned immediately to the Consignor, or recommended for repair services through a reputable third-party SMS Saddlery. Consignor will be responsible for return or repair shipping costs if necessary. 

NOTE: For non-local consignments: The Consignor is responsible for shipping the saddle to Ashley's Fine English Tack via FedEx only, and insured for the declared value. We have used all carriers and FedEx is consistently superior in package handling, service, and delivery which is paramount for an item as important and valuable as your saddle.

*Cash or certified check sales will be encouraged if purchasing locally in NY to avoid PayPal fees for the Consignor* 

Ashley DeBacco DBA "Ashley’s Fine English Tack" reserves the right to terminate this agreement for any reason, and will not be held responsible for any sale losses while the saddle is in her possession.
